They Live

First off let me say thanks, I was very pleasantly surprised to see people already awaiting the undeadening of this blog. Comments are always appreciated as I sometimes assume I'm sending this out to nowhere. Which is cool if I am but I always love to know that other people enjoy checking in as much as I do posting. I'm using this thing called divshare. If you'd like to download click the file it'll open a new tab, click on the right side where it says download original and skip the ads.

When I first heard about this song it reminded me of the classic horror movie. The one I haven't seen. But hey this is a blog about music not film and while I have a shelf full of Universal Monster Movies I still have some horror flicks to catch up on. I was always scared of most horror movies due to living out in the country and I think also to being an only child, oh yeah we also lived about 5 miles from a Level 5 Maximum Security Prison. If that sounds to technically accurate you'll forgive my reliance on Wikipedia. Anyways I do know alot about They Live despite not having seen it. That for one it stars Rowdy Roddy Piper and that it was directed by Jon Carpenter. I've seen parts but from what I know about it, despite being a B movie is actually pretty interesting and also has a fight scene that apparently goes on about 5 minutes longer than you think it will.

But back to the point, the music. They Live is a new single by Evil Nine a DJ duo from England. They remind me of Daft Punk and I mean that in a good way. Maybe it's just that they're repeating the name of a horror film, but there's something very quasi scary about this song. Maybe its the driving beat, or the disembodied voices doing the vocals. But as the song swells you can imagine a group of attractive 20 something actors (playing teenagers) running for their lives, only to end up in an alley with no way out. Speaking of which such alleys seem all to frequent in movies. Who is building these inner city blockades? Anyways enjoy They Live and keep a lookout for Evil Nine they have an album coming out this month.

Let me know if you have any questions about listening/downloading the files. Also if you are digging around in the archives and particularly want something no longer up I might be able to help you out.

Oh yeah and shameless plug. If anyone wants to help me spread the word I have a sig that you can add and tie it to an html link if you're on any message boards or your own blog.
